Music is a powerful force. It connects us to the people we love, outlines the euphoric emotion we feel in the most joyous occasions, and transports us back to exact moments in our lives – music becomes community. That community gathered at Wren Farm to witness Emily & Joey’s love and send them off to their life of adventuring & exploring out west, as Joey continues to pursue his music career.
What started over ten years ago as high school sweethearts, culminated in a celebration we were fortunate enough to witness. As Emily & Joey started their relationship as teenagers in Columbus, family & friends watched them grow, and a beautiful community formed around them, making everything about their day personal, sentimental, and downright them.
From Emily’s dress that mistakenly wasn’t finished & was sewn together by one of her bridesmaids just minutes before the ceremony, back and forth weather resulting in an impromptu pre-ceremony cocktail hour rain delay, the most intimate ceremony officiated by a family friend, vows that had the entire gathering in tears, Joey surprising Emily by performing a live version of the song she danced to with her father, and a wild dance party in the barn, this was a day unlike any other.
This is one of those high school sweetheart, best friend + soulmate kind of love that flows to everyone around and you just can’t help but feel it.
